Good start of the 2019 turtle season

We are off to a good start

The CREMA research team found this turtle during sunrise in one of the first censuses of their training.
As part of the rules, to secure a good handling of the turtles the voluteers usually work turtles by night, they don’t take pictures to not disturb the turtle, and they only use red light.

They were so lucky to see this turtle during daylight, and could take pics. Always approaching the turtle from behind, never standing in front of her and keeping the distance, (in some of the pics the team is closer than normal as they were about to collect data from the turtle). This responsible behavior is part of the training, for the new 2019 CREMA team, which is just starting its work.
