Bejuco Sea Turtle Nesting Season Started
This past Monday CREMA’s Bejuco project started, and now all the 4 nesting projects (San Miguel, Costa de Oro, Bejuco and Corozalito) are running. Yesterday all the team mobilized to Bejuco to help conditioning the hatchery, which soon will be ready to protect sea turtle’s nests.
They started cleaning the hatchery area from any rest of organic or inorganic material, so they had to dig very deep, the site is then protected from invaders, with a fence and divided in squares, to place the nests. All the nests that are under certain threat will be moved to the hatchery, which is dayly monitored by volunteers and project coordinators.
We will keep you informed.
